In 1966, Ford shocked the world with the legendary Le Mans hat-trick victory of the GT40 Mk II. In 1967, the mighty GT40 Mk IV conquered Le Mans once again with its monstrous 7L engine.
Faced with total domination, the FIA changed the rules for 1968, limiting engines to 5 liters in an attempt to stop Ford.
But legends don’t stop that easily.
Ford brought back the GT40 Mk I powered by the iconic 4.9L Small Block V8… and went on to win Le Mans again in both 1968 and 1969 wearing the unforgettable Gulf liveries that became motorsport history forever.
