This is a scale model kit to be assembled by an adult; it includes all the parts as indicated, but it does not include glue or paints, that you can also buy at DModelkits Store.

GP Modeling surprised us in Big way with its new reference.

A complete and detailed transkit engine designed specifically for the 1/24 scale kits of the Peterbilt 377 and 378 series trucks.

Kit Description:

The Detroit Diesel Series 60 is a six-cylinder inline diesel engine produced from 1987 to 2011.

The most used versions in the road transport sector are the 12.7 liter and the 14 liter (entered service in 2001).

The Series 60 engines were revolutionary when introduced thanks to their electronic control system, which was the first to appear in on-road engine applications.

The version of this TK is the 12.7 Liter (note that the external dimensions of the engine block are practically the same between the two displacements) in DDEC IV (Detroit Diesel Electronic Control) configuration.

Compared to the original kit (which includes the alternator on one side and the air conditioning compressor on the opposite side) GP Modelling preferred to install the single support plate for the two systems on the right side (standardized version since 2002), thus also modifying the layout of the straps as in reality.

The valve cover has also undergone several changes over the years.

In this TK the one-piece version was used as it is the most aesthetically pleasing.

The KIT engine is specifically designed for the 1/24 scale Peterbilt 377 and 378 series trucks. The Italeri 3857 kit relating to the Peterbilt 378 Long Hauler was used as a reference but it can also be used with the following kits:

  • ITALERI kit n° 740 Peterbilt 377 A/E scala 1/24
  • ITALERI kit n° 746 Peterbilt 378 US Conventional Truck scala 1/24
  • ITALERI kit n° 3894 Peterbilt 378-119 Classic  scala 1/24
  • AMT kit n° 1337/08 Peterbilt 377 A/E scala 1/24
  • AMT kit n° 1169/08 Peterbilt 378 Long Hauler scala 1/24
  • REVELL kit n° 07527 Peterbilt 377 A/E scala 1/24

The TransKit is printed with 6k/8k 3D technology and is supplied on print media. A decal sheet (not pre-cut) is included which reproduces the service labels of the various components.

Overall there are over 30 parts.
